REVIEW:
One of GolfTest USA's Test Administrators lives very near The Preserve Golf Club and has raved about it for the past year since it opened in 2001. We felt obligated to play it when we arrived in Detroit in May. Though we can't confirm it we have been told that Arnold Palmer considers this course to be his finest design. After playing The Preserve in our humble opinion we would have to agree. The course is literally "out in the sticks" about 60 miles from Detroit. It is well worth the drive. The course is carved out of the wetlands and features many elevation changes that challenge golfers skills to the limit. The course is only a year old so the fairways were not up to the standards we are sure will occur with a little more maturity. They have a large expansive practice area and while the facilities are still in the process of being completed we can see that The Preserve will be considered one of the top courses in the Detroit area for many years to come. Tom Harris, the Head Pro, went out of his way to accommodate us on a very busy Saturday morning. The scenery and views on each hole were worth the price of admission. We had a great day of golf at The Preserve and would recommend to anyone coming to the Detroit area to make time to play The Preserve. .
